The Overland Railway (see previous blog entry) saga continues – the old steam locomotives and some remaining cars once again sat in storage until the late 1960s, when a man by the name of Robert Maxfield noticed in the Oakland Tribune that two of the locomotives were for sale. Maxfield acted quickly and acquired the engines and three passenger cars. His brainstorm was to build a rail attraction in Calistoga...

Today these house shops and restaurants, including one of our favorite wine shops in the valley, the Calistoga Wine Stop.
