Welcome to the August Briggs Blog

Over the past few weeks all August Briggs wine club members have received letters from the winery outlining our new club structure for 2008. We decided late last year that to provide better service to our best customers, our club members, we needed to revise the club in order to provide better shipping service and more opportunity for our club members to choose specific wines that they enjoy. In a nutshell, ship when the weather is best and give you what you want!
The club is revised in the following two ways - FIRST, you can now select between two tiers of club membership - the Big Club receives a bottle of wine of each wine we make, 14 bottles this year (6 spring, 8 fall); the Sampler Club receives 8 bottles per year (4 spring, 4 fall). SECOND, because we sell out of most of our wines before the next release, we will be sending out purchase allocations to each club member in spring and fall to make sure members have a chance to purchase wines of their choice before they are sold out.
So - if you're currently a club member and haven't gotten back to us yet, let us know asap which club, Big or Sampler, you'd like to belong to. If you're not a club member, you might want to join now to be assured of your own supply of August Briggs wines. Contact Matt Gacso at matt@augustbriggswines.com with questions and club selection.

The weather cleared up nicely on Saturday for the annual great Zin festival and tasting at Fort Mason in San Francisco. With over 250 wineries and probably 500 wines represented, it's quite a site to see...

A cold storm rotating around the north bay this week produced some snowfall at pretty low elevations, down to about 1000 feet. Mt. St. Helena just north of us had a few inches of snow along parts of Hwy. 29. I know many in the midwest and east will laugh (why is he writing about THIS?), but we don't get this often, and the best part of all is that it is welcome moisture, which we need! So far this season we've only had about 16" of our "normal" 36 inches of rain. Click on "read" for pix--

I humbly apologize to all our club members today - we are in the midst of a changeover in suppliers for our website and club management, and an email was sent out today to supposedly help you to login to the website. Unfortunately the links within the email are not working properly, and you will not be able to log in. We are working as quickly as possible to make those links work so you can communicate with us. Please bear with us with these technological difficulties, and once again, I'm sorry for any time you've had to waste on our behalf.
